Book Notes: March 23, 2022 - Inspirational Suspense Romance

Welcome back for another round of book reviews! I've been reading a lot more, trying to get my book count back up to several ahead of schedule. With a 200 book reading goal this year, I really don't want to get behind. I have these reviews for you today.

Didn't Want to Put It Down

Fast paced for most of the book, I really didn't want to stop reading. I read this aloud to my husband and we both enjoyed it. There were a few typos and a small section that was repeated, so I'm taking off half a star for that. One other thing I thought while reading was that the faith element was a tad light. It kinda seemed like the author almost got the message of salvation out there but skirted along the edges of it. Still, it was a clean story with lots of action and adventure. And it was certainly different than many of the suspense romance books I've read in the past.
If you're looking for a clean suspense romance which includes a light inspirational theme and a ton of action and adventure, this might be a good book to try.

This one has been showing up in the suggested book list on Kindle for months. I just wasn't sure whether or not I should give it a try. Then I started looking for something else I could read aloud that my husband might enjoy listening to. So I took a chance. I'm glad I did. We ended up buying the series.

A Sweet Romance

Short, sweet, and with a powerful example of sacrificial love, this was a good story. However, I have to give 4 stars. I managed to finish it, but it took me a while to get into the story. Then the short length of the book had me wishing there was a bit more depth in places. Some of it felt rushed. I'm not sure why it seemed rushed in some areas and choppy in others, but that's how it came across to me. Still, it could've just been I wasn't in the mood for that type of story or something like that. I didn't notice any glaring typos or repeated mistakes, so that was another positive thing.
If you enjoy sweet, inspirational romance with a bit of suspense and adventure thrown in, you might want to give this book a go.

This one was harder to get into after reading so many American suspense romance books. It was almost mild in comparison. But that isn't a mark against it. It just took a bit for my brain to shift gears. *wry chuckle* Set in Australia and starring a heroine who works with disadvantaged youth and a hero who carries a heavy burden of guilt, the story unfolds in such a beautiful and soft way. The faith message is a bit stronger in this book, too, which I enjoyed.

So what do you think? Have you read these? If not, would you like to? I'd love to see what you think if you'll leave a comment below.

Thanks so much for checking out today's post. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you'll return when I post again!
