Book Notes & Author Journey: January 15, 2021

This week hasn't been going at all like usual. Several things got in the way of me posting to the blog. I apologize for that and in this article, I'll share a little more than usual. I hope you find something enjoyable or encouraging and that you'll be back again next week when I'll hopefully be back on schedule.

Book Notes: Book Review: Her Cowboy Billionaire Birthday Wish by Liz Isaacson

Her Cowboy Billionaire Birthday Wish (Christmas in Coral Canyon #9)

Her Cowboy Billionaire Birthday Wish by Liz Isaacson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Cozy Romance

This was a nice, cozy, clean romance. I enjoy that about Liz Isaacson's books. It wasn't my favorite of her books, but I did enjoy it and would recommend it to those who enjoy clean romance with an inspirational undertone.

Author Journey: How Hectic My Life!

The computer I usually work on is getting old. So I made the choice to pull an even older machine out of storage and try upgrading the pieces as I can so I can use that one instead. It's slowly coming together, but it's taken a lot of my time this past week. That's part of the reason I didn't get my blog posts out on time. And it's definitely the reason I haven't completed the read-through of Surge yet.

About that, my goal is to get solidly back into our school groove before picking back up on the editing process for Surge. I'm looking forward to completing book two and getting it out to the readers, but I really want to make sure the content is solid and makes sense in the whole series arc.

I've downloaded a couple of books which I think might be helpful. I'll keep you posted on my findings as I'm able to read them. I also purchased a couple of writing classes on Udemy which I believe will help both me and my youngest daughter. I'm looking forward to getting into those soon.  I might actually hop back on the Nano site to take advantage of their goal tracking widget. I find it helps me know very quickly if I'm actually staying on track.

I didn't realize how much I wrote over the course of 2020. When I checked out my Nano Year in Review info-graphic, I was kind of shocked and wondered if I actually made a mistake inputting my data. I grabbed a screenshot to share with you. Hopefully, you'll be encouraged about what you may be accomplishing over the course of a year, too.

The Sale of Ripples is Still On!

Until the end of January 2021, you can purchase Ripples (Children of Y'Dahnndrya book 1) by Robin McElveen (that's me!) for only $0.99 USD. Use this Books2Read link to choose your preferred store from the list of ebook retailers.

One of my bittersweet moments...I didn't realize YA (young adult) novels would get shelved with kiddie books in my local library. I've made the decision to remarket Ripples as "straight up" fantasy, along with the rest of the series. I feel YA books should be filed with other books which match their sub-genres, but maybe that doesn't really make sense?

With that, I'm signing off. I still have so much to do today, including teaching my youngest. I hope you'll have a lovely and safe weekend, filled with wonderful stories and productive writing time!
