Author Journey: November 24, 2023 - So Much To Be Thankful For

Welcome to the scenic route! I'm finishing up a busy week, y'all. It's good to have you here. I hope you'll enjoy what I share in today's post. There's only one way to find out. Let's get going!

Author Journey: The Editing Continues

On Saturday, I worked at the polls. I didn't get much editing done, besides the few chapter titles I worked on. I did work some on the cover art, though, and think I'm getting closer to happy with that.

Nano is moving along because I'm doing that read-through with my mom. She's continuing to improve, but please continue to keep her in your prayers. We're still not to the point where she can get those two final tests run.

Here's how my goal line looks as of yesterday...

Writer's Life: Live, Move, & Breathe

The verse in Acts which says it's in God we "live, and move, and have our being" has been standing out to me this year. It's so true. I don't think I've ever had that stand out to me so much as in the last couple of years.

Our oldest daughter is in wedding planning mode and we've been hunting for the perfect dress this week. We found one for her, as well as one for our youngest daughter. We still don't have a venue (as of Monday) and we're six months out, unless they push the date back a bit. It's going to be interesting, but God is good. He provides what we need when we need it.

Spartacus is doing fairly well adjusting to his new food and feeding schedule. I'm excited about starting to feed him raw food in with his normal cat food. I want him to live a long, happy life.

It was great to gather with my mom, dad, sister, and her friend for Thanksgiving this year. The only ones not able to attend from our family were our son and his family. They went to visit stay with my mother-in-law and visit with my husband's side of the family. We had the added joy of spending some time with our future in-laws, as well, so that was good. I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving, too.

Just Keep Writing: Friday Fascicles

If this is your first time participating in this kind of writing exercise, you're in for a treat. If you've done this with me before, just keep scrolling for the prompt.

Rules:

  1. You can use any/all of the words and/or the photo in the prompt below to create a unique written work. Fiction or nonfiction, poetry or prose, even lyrics are acceptable.
  2. Please keep the material you write clean (i.e. nothing R-rated or worse) if you wish to share the link to your work here, as well as if you link back to my site. I strive to keep my site free of such things. My readers know and expect this. I respect your right to write whatever you feel you need to write. And you're free to use my prompts. But if your material is graphic, I'd rather not view it, and most of my readers will not wish to.
  3. Have fun! This type of exercise is perfect for growing in the writing craft, or for helping through a rough patch in your current WIP. If you're looking to push your author limits and you normally write in nonfiction prose, try a whimsical collection of lyrics. If you normally write poems about real life events, try your hand at a fanfic. Give yourself some room to explore.

Don't forget to leave a link to your creation (unless you're writing graphic material) so my readers and I can check out your work. I'd appreciate a link back to this post to help me reach more readers, but it's not required.

What do you think? Are these words planting ideas in your mind? Let me know what you think in the comment section.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me this week, y'all! I really do appreciate each one of you. Why not share one thing you're thankful for in the comments. I'd love to see some of the good things happening in your lives.

Please keep coming back to enjoy more word prompts, book reviews, and insight about the author life. I hope you'll bring your creative friends with you.

Until next time,
