Book Notes: June 28, 2023 - Book Reviews - Inspirational Historical Romance

 Welcome to my branch of the scenic route. I've got a couple of book reviews to share with you today. Both books were written by one of my new favorites -- Karen Witemeyer. She has an amazing way of relaying a story that just keeps you turning pages. And if you discount a book because it's labeled as 'inspirational', then you're going to miss quite a lot of awesomeness if you skip her books. Excellent Story!

Short, but I couldn't put it down. I loved the devotion of the MCs. That combined with the author's delivery of the plot created a wonderful story. If you're looking for a clean, historical, inspirational romance short story, this one might be just the thing!

Book Review: No Other Will Do (Ladies of Harper's Station, #1) by Karen Witemeyer

Loved It!

I knew when I read the prologue in the free sample I was going to love this story. Well-crafted plot and characters made the book come to life. Not once did I think something wasn't believable, and that's saying a lot.
If you're looking for an inspirational, historical romance which is packed with action and emotion, you'll want to give this one a try.

The first book is a novella. Let me tell you of the joy it is to read a novella by Karen Witemeyer. She delivers a STORY every time she puts a book out, whether it's a novel or a novella. You're going to get a full-fledged book. Whatever you spend on the author's books, know that if you enjoy her genre, you're going to feel that your purchase was worth every penny. 

I usually wait until books go on sale before buying because when it comes to buying ebooks, I think it's ridiculous to spend an amount equal to a physical copy. And when you have a company like Amazon pretty much saying they can revoke your access to those digital books at any time hanging over your head, it makes a buyer pretty skittish about spending lots of money on a book. 

These books by this author are worth the money, even if you only get to read them one time. But if you're like me, you're gonna want to reread them. 

Just Keep Writing: Wednesday Whimsy

1. You can use any/all of the words and/or the photo in the prompt below to create a unique written work. Fiction or nonfiction, poetry or prose, even lyrics are acceptable.

I strive to keep my site free of such things. My readers know and expect this. I respect your right to write whatever you feel you need to write. And you're free to use my prompts. But if your material is graphic, I'd rather not view it, and most of my readers will not wish to. 
3. Have fun! This type of exercise is perfect for growing in the writing craft, or for helping through a rough patch in your current WIP. If you're looking to push your author limits and you normally write in nonfiction prose, try a whimsical collection of lyrics. If you normally write poems about real life events, try your hand at a fanfic. Give yourself some room to explore.

Don't forget to leave a link to your creation (unless you're writing graphic material) so my readers and I can check out your work. I'd appreciate a link back to this post to help me reach more readers, but it's not required.
